Masimanyane Women’s Support Centre is a non-profit international women’s organisation based in East London, South Africa. We aim to build women’s human rights, focusing  on violence against women, sexual and reproductive health and rights and the impact of  HIV and Aids on women.

Activities:

  • Zanempilo Health Centre – counseling the victims of gender based violence. The centre has two counselling rooms and a trauma room.
  • East London Magistrates Court Centre – the Masimanyane office within the court deals with cases of gender based violence
  • East London Police Station Victim Support Centre – assisting rape survivors and counsels them before they go to hospital
  • The Masimanyane Centre at the Mdantsane Magistrate’s Court mostly deals with court cases related to domestic violence, child abuse and maintenance. Additionally, counsellors are on hand to support rape survivors
  • Duncan Village Victim Support Centre – counsels  rape survivors. They have also dealt with cases of domestic violence and child abuse
  • Empilisweni Woodlands AIDS Education and Training Centre King William’s Town deals with counselling of Aids victims and holds educational seminars for public educators and learners
